- Hello there and welcome.

Do you know there's a lot of talk about paradigms.

We deal in paradigms our whole life.

And our company is very involved in helping people

understand and change paradigms.

You might ask, what is a paradigm?

Essentially, a paradigm is much the same as a program

that you would put in your computer.

That program will keep working the way you want it to work,

the way it's programmed to work,

until such time as you change it.

And if you want to change it, you can.

But it keeps spitting out exactly the same results,

exactly the same way.

That's essentially what a paradigm is.

A paradigm is a program in your subconscious mind

that controls your behavior to an enormous degree.

It controls all of your habitual behavior

to an enormous degree.

It really does.

I think when you understand paradigms,

you'll understand why brilliant people

do silly things.

Why is it that people

who are absolutely brilliant stay broke?

Why is it people with wonderful formal educations

seem to have dumb jobs?

Do you see, we have almost deified the intellect.

That's where the degrees are.

But the intellect in the conscious mind

is not what controls our behavior.

We live in the physical body,

and this body moves into action and the action produces

the results we get.

In truth, the action produces a reaction,

and it's the reaction reaction that alters

the conditions of circumstance or environment in our life.

Well what causes our body to act?

It's the program in our mind.

Now we can consciously choose, I can consciously choose

to do something with my right hand.

If I consciously choose to write with my left hand,

I'm going to tell ya, it is chicken scratch.

And I'm doing that right now.

However, it doesn't work very well.

Why, because I'm programmed to write

with my right hand.

If you don't like the results you're getting,

understand the results are caused by your actions.

Trace the result back to the action.

What's causing the action?

It's an idea in your subconscious mind.

Do you see, you already know how to do better

than you're doing.

That's not the problem.

You're not doing what you know how to do.

And that is because the conscious mind is programmed

with information, knowing how to do something,

but the subconscious mind does not have that information.

The subconscious mind is programmed to do something

probably exactly the opposite.

And until you change the subconscious programming,

nothing's going to change.

Now you might ask, how did that program get there?

Well you might ask, how did you get here?

There's a little particle of energy from mom

and a little particle of energy from dad,

come swimming along and boom like that,

they fell in love.

They were in resonance.

They were in harmony.

They come together.

That was the essence of you.

That was the moment of conception.

And those cells grew for approximately 280 days

and kept attracting more energy.

And then you made your debut on the planet.

Now, that conditioning, and that's what it was,

is called genetic conditioning.

Little energy from mom, little energy from dad.

Where'd they get it from?

Their mom and dad and on and on it goes,

and it goes back for a number of generations.

That's genetic conditioning.

Then when you made your debut on the planet,

your subconscious mind was wide open.

The intellect was not developed.

The conscious mind had not developed.

Your subconscious mind was wide open,

and you became a product of your environment.

It's why you speak the language you speak.

It's why you eat most of the food that you eat,

you say you like.

You're programmed to like it.

You're programmed to eat it.

And that goes on for a number of years.

And then, our intellect develops.

We have the ability then to think and control

our own behavior.

Unfortunately, most people don't.

We think, but we never internalize the thoughts.

And do you see, the conditioning is all this information

in the subconscious mind that's controlling our behavior.

Our company has built programs that are highly successful,

showing people how to understand what I'm saying in-depth

and then show them how to change the paradigm.

When you do that, you take control of your life.

You see, I did that many many years ago.

My results changed dramatically.

I didn't know what I had done.

I had actually changed my paradigm.

No formal education, no business experience,

and I went from earning $4,000 a year and dumb jobs

to having my own company where I'm earning

over $1 million a year with offices in Toronto,

Montreal, Boston, Cleveland, Atlanta, London, England.

It was while I was there earning all this money,

one day, something happened and I thought,

how did this happen to me?

I knew I wasn't lucky.

I don't believe in luck.

Voltaire said we invented that word to express

the known effects of unknown causes.

But I could not explain why I had changed,

and there had been a dramatic change.

Up until I was 26, I lost.

I couldn't hold a job.

I just wasn't behaving properly.

And then at 26, bang, everything changed.

Took me 9 1/2 years to figure it out.

I had changed my paradigm.

I was an unconscious competent.

I was doing well, but I didn't know why.

Do you know there's a lot of people like that.

Now I would imagine you would like to change your paradigm.

If you want to change your results,

it's an absolute prerequisite.

You must change your paradigm.

That's what our company's involved in,

and that's what we teach.

But until you learn that, satisfy yourself with this.

You know how to do better.

You've got all kinds of information in your conscious mind,

but it is not controlling your behavior,

and your behavior is controlling your results.

Your subconscious mind has a program.

It's called a paradigm.

And it keeps manifesting in results.

And until you change the paradigm,

your life is not going to change.

Think about it.

It's a phenomenal thing to to understand.

Solomon, great wise king, he said in all you're getting,

get understanding, that's what you want.

You want to gain an understanding of how your paradigm

was formed and how it can be changed.

And when you've got that, you are in control of your life,

and that's what it should be.

This is Bob Proctor, thank you.
